I attach a draft letter, for Mr. Gent's signature, to Mr. Colman. As for the present the proposal is that he should act as a Consultant only, there seems no need to suggest that a formal letter of appointment should be sent to him at any rate until he takes on the full time post.
I have consulted the H.K.P.U. as to a figure for his retaining fee as a Consultant. Their proposal is a fee of 10 gns. per consultation or 100 gns. as a retaining fee until such time as he takes up the full time appointment. I think that a fee per consultation would be difficult and impracticable and I suggest the latter recommendation. It is admittedly low, but I gather from Mr. MacDougall that they do not expect to trouble Mr. Colman wery much.
